Your Health RI Direct Primary Care Officially Opens in East Providence
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I., August 31, 2026 — Your Health RI, a new Direct Primary Care practice founded by physicians Luis A. Osorio, M.D., and Deqiang Zhang, M.D., is officially open and welcoming patients at its East Providence location.
Your Health RI was created around a simple idea: physicians need time to provide great care, and patients deserve a healthcare experience built around their needs rather than the limitations of a traditional fee-for-service model.
Dr. Osorio and Dr. Zhang have intentionally limited their practices to just 300 patients per physician, a fraction of the patient panels commonly managed in traditional primary care. The smaller panel allows for longer appointments, greater physician availability, and the opportunity to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients.
“We wanted to create a practice where we have the time to really know our patients and understand what is happening in their lives, not just what brought them into the office that day,” said Dr. Osorio. “Your Health RI gives us the opportunity to practice medicine the way we believe it should be practiced.”
Your Health RI operates through a monthly membership rather than billing insurance for routine primary care. Membership includes unlimited primary care visits without copays, direct access to the patient’s physician by phone, text, or video, and same- or next-day appointments. Patients are encouraged to maintain health insurance for services outside the practice, including hospitalizations, specialist care, major procedures, imaging, and other services not included in membership.
The practice combines comprehensive primary care with an emphasis on prevention and Lifestyle Medicine. Services include acute and chronic disease management, preventive care, Lifestyle Medicine, in-office ultrasound, point-of-care lab testing, 3D body composition scanning, virtual visits, care coordination, and additional in-office services designed to make care more convenient for members.
“For me, the ability to care for a patient over time is incredibly important,” said Dr. Zhang. “When you have the time to understand a patient’s history, lifestyle, and goals, you can focus not only on treating illness, but on helping that person stay healthy for years to come.”
Both physicians bring extensive experience caring for Rhode Island patients. Dr. Osorio has practiced in Rhode Island for more than 25 years and is board-certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Zhang is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine, serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Brown University’s Warren Alpert Medical School, and is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner.
